Last Night of Chemo Treatment

Family and Friends,

Tonight is Bob's last bag of Chemo. He's had a really rough day, last night he had a fever of 103 and they packed him with ice, and it pretty much stayed the same throughout the night. His fever went down this morning to 101. The doctor told me they thought he might have an infection due to the effects of the chemo and his low blood counts, so they gave him broad spectrum antibiotics as well as a platelet transfusion today. This afternoon his fever went back up to 103 and they had to pack him with ice again. He hasn't left the bed and hasn't been able to eat since a day and a half ago. The nutritionist is giving him Ensure, but he's not keen on drinking it due to the nausea.

A special thanks to the people who are following Bob from Alwyn's blog. That's very kind of you. In addition, a super huge thank you to everyone for all the congratulations about the engagement last night!! I have recent photos of Bob and I from our trip 10 days ago, and when I get home, I'll try to post some. It's pretty crazy what a difference 1o days makes.

Michele
