BOB'S LEUKEMIA IS IN REMISSION!!!

Family and Friends,

I just wanted to let you know that we received news from Bob's doctor this morning that his Leukemia is officially in full remission. Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers during this ordeal, it has really meant a lot. He has a long road ahead wtih regard to rehabilitation and physical therapy, but it's all downhill. I can't think of a better way to start the new year!

Thank you again for keeping Bob in your thoughts and prayers- it has paid off!!

Love and thanks,
Michele

  1. Hallelujah! Yahoo! I'm so tremendously happy and relieved for you and Bob. How are you both feeling? When I received my final remission confirmation, it was extremely weird, almost anti-climactic. It was a bizarre feeling to have gone through so much, then to be told "okay, you're still in remission-see you in a month." It didn't turn out that way for me because I had some minor complications afterwards, but it was a weird feeling to know that after seeing my hem/onc almost every day for six months, I suddenly wasn't going to see her for four weeks. I now only see her quarterly, and have gotten used to it. However, she's going on maternity leave, so I won't see her for a full six months. I'm REALLY nervous about that since I'm in the prime relapse window right now. But I'm sure it will be fine, since I don't plan on relapsing! :)

Bob, I just have to say, you know there aren't a lot of folks who survive AML, and I'm happy beyond belief that you have made it this far. I will continue to pray for you--that your rehabilitation proceeds slowly, safely, and surely, that you are able to eventually return to work and establish a new life, and that you will never revisit this horror again.

I extend the invitation to both of you to contact me directly if you need any support as you go through recovery. I've found recovery, in a different way, to be more difficult than treatment some days. It can be hard because other folks will now think "oh, it's all over," when really it's still going to be very much a part of your life, your activities, your thoughts for quite a while. If you need someone who understands, feel free to shoot me a direct email at jenjuli73@yahoo.
