Congrats on your coming one year anniversary. I found your blog when I was feeling down and looking around at other blogs for someone with the same conditions I am battling. I have an autoimmune liver disease which has progressed to cirrhosis and all the health issues that come with it, and will only get progressively worse. You are still young and have a lot of living to do so keep fighting.
Bob was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia called Acute Myleoid Leukemia. AML is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells, characterized by the rapid growth of abnormal white blood cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and interfere with the production of normal blood cells. He was diagnosed on June 24th and starts chemotherapy tomorrow. Bob has maintained his ever present positive attitude.
Bob is staying at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida. This facility provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for cancer patients. Bob decided that staying in this facility closest to our family support group is the best initial course of action. This choice will be reevaluated as things progress.
We are thankful to be surrounded by friends and family. Thank you to everyone who has been a tremendous support system for Bob. We are grateful to have your love and support.
